BA Associate and BA Certified Badge Program
Our business analysis certification was built with the realization that the role of business analysis is changing and becoming more diverse. Just as roles on development teams are becoming less and less defined, a formal, siloed BA certification program no longer serves the best interest of organizations, students or the constant evolution of skills needed for success.
While the program encompasses the breadth of business analysis, the path to BA certification is a personalized experience. Through the incorporation of badges, individuals and organizations can focus their learning experiences on the specializations that directly benefit their unique role/position. The program is made up of two certification levels and eight badge specializations. As they progress in their business analysis certification journeys, students will earn badges towards achieving the higher-level certifications.

BA Certification Badges + Courses
Each badge was designed to concentrate on an area of competency or specialization. Badge selection should be driven by an individual or organization to address areas of improvement or career development. Think of these as the minors for a degree majoring in business analysis.
A few things to know about the business analysis certification badges:
- Badges can be received independently. They are not contingent on achievement of the certifications listed above.
- The hours required to receive a badge will vary. The receipt of a badge is based on our instructor’s assessment of your knowledge and application of the material during class, not the hours.
- Our Essential Skills for Business Analysis course covers four major topics. Each BA certification badge achievement requires one of these four topics. They are designated with an asterisk (*).
Agile Analysis Badge

Agile Analysis badge holders have demonstrated their comprehension of agile concepts and their ability to support agile project teams, enable change by defining needs, and ensure valuable solutions as a result of attending 2 of these 3 courses.
Business Rules
BA Certification Badge
Business Rules badge holders have demonstrated their comprehension of and ability to elicit, analyze, and model organizational business rules as a result of attending these 2 courses.
Elicitation/ Facilitation Badge

Elicitation/Facilitation badge holders have demonstrated their comprehension of and ability to effectively engage stakeholders and manage meetings/workshops using various elicitation techniques as a result of attending these 2 courses.Â
1 Remote Facilitation was formerly offered as a certification option in place of Facilitating a Requirements Workshop course.

Process Analysis badge holders have demonstrated their comprehension of and ability to enable change and ensure valuable solutions by defining and modeling business capability and process needs as a result of attending these 2 courses.
Strategic Thinking
BA Certification Badge
Strategic Thinking badge holders have demonstrated their ability in applying critical thinking, systems thinking, and design thinking to foster innovation and adaptability as a result of attending these 2 courses.
Analysis Planning Badge

Analysis Planning badge holders have demonstrated their comprehension of and ability to estimate and track the analysis effort on a project as a result of attending 2 of these 4 courses. (Note: due to the overlap in course material, credit will also be given for Stakeholder Analysis and Engagement to any Developing a Business Analysis Work Plan student.)
Data Analysis Badge

Data Analysis badge holders have demonstrated their comprehension of and ability to elicit, analyze, and model project/enterprise business data, contribute to business intelligence, and assist in data mining efforts as a result of attending one of these data-focused courses and Requirements Analysis Techniques.
